The War on Drugs 3/12/12

A quick reminder for those SXSWers of our acts playing the festival this week and ALL their showcase info and timings. Click here to find out more.
In a late addition we also heard that Dirty Beaches is playing a showcase for Death and Taxes on the 15th March. Here’s hoping more show details will emerge this week!

Happy Xmas from Create Spark. Above’s one of my favourite tracks of 2011, coincidentally with a slightly festive electronic peel of synths near the end.

My favourite albums of the year were:

John Maus ‘We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves’

Girls ‘Father, Son, Holy Ghost’

Destroyer ‘Kaputt’

Suuns ‘Zeroes QC’

St Vincent ‘Strange Mercy’

Moonface ‘Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I’d Hoped’ (ok, yes I know it’s an EP)

The War On Drugs ‘Slave Ambient’

Mogwai ‘Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will’

The Horrors ‘Skying’

Dirty Beaches ‘Badlands’

Bon Iver ‘Bon Iver’

Metronomy ‘The English Riviera’

Wild Beasts ‘Smother’

Gruff Rhys ‘Hotel Shampoo’

That PJ record.

Not discounting all the wonderful records and artists we’ve had the pleasure to represent this year too, which you can peruse here. Special mention should go to Sufjan Stevens and his mind-meltingly amazing live shows, something that was a total privilege to work on. And thanks to Outfit, for not only filling our lives with sonic joy, but also giving me some of the worst hangovers I’ve had for a while.

See you in 2012
